Historic Forest Grove

Forest Grove was settled in the 1840’s and is the oldest incorporated city in Washington County. "Old Town" homes range from pioneer settlement period to expansion era mansions on park like grounds, shaded neighborhoods of Oregon White Oak and Giant Sequoias rising above the skyline.

Forest Grove has a unique role in Pacific Northwest history. It is a city of rich heritage and a testament to Oregon’s pioneering spirit. It quickly became the educational and agricultural (and religious) backbone of Washington County well before statehood.

With four National Historic Districts and individually listed structures recognized on the local cultural resource inventory, Forest Grove offers varied opportunities to explore our special place in history.
