There are 65 wineries in a 20-mile radius of Forest Grove, including the Willamette Valley’s first pinot noir vineyards, planted by Charles Coury in 1965. Now home to David Hill Vineyard, his pinot is still produced and labeled as Estate Blackjack. Before Coury, Ernest Reuter planted Klevner (Pinot Blanc) grapes on that site in the 1890s.
