Strange, wild, historic and folkloric tales thrive among the trees, mountains, waterways, fog, and mists of the Pacific Northwest. Stories that have been handed down through the centuries range from the search for the Northwest Passage, shipwrecks and the "Graveyard of the Pacific," pirates, sailors' superstitions, natural and manmade disasters, Bigfoot, sea serpents, haunted lighthouses and other tales. Each city, town, and waterway has its own story. Professor Ira Wesley Kitmacher explores many fascinating legends of the Pacific Northwest.
